Christmas Plans This Year

NotYourBDaySMALL SermonGraphicEvery year, we say we’re going to cut back and simplify our family Christmas and instead focus on the real reason for the season – Jesus! This year, more than ever may be when we need to do this the most to keep our sanity in the midst of all that is happening in our world. Don’t let beckoning advertisements, pleading children, and every want or whim get the best of you. Overspending, overeating, and maddening busyness rob us of the peace and joy God wants us to experience and they rob Jesus of his rightful role as the center of the celebration.

This November, join Pastor Abi and Pastor Arum as they explore how to prepare for a different kind of Christmas this year!  You’re also invited to join one of the small groups or Sunday School classes exploring this theme in more detail as they dive into the book by pastor emeritus, Michael Slaughter, “Christmas is Not Your Birthday.” Materials are being provided by the church and folks may sign up to participate during worship on the Online Registration Tool or by calling the church office, 703-368-5161, Monday - Friday during business hours.  Children & Youth will explore similar themes when they gather during the month of November.

  • Special "Jesus" birthday cake supplies
  • Several service projects
