Lent Begins on Feb. 17!
Are You Ready?
The prophet Isaiah reminds us that "You, O Lord, are our Father. We are the clay, you are the potter; we are all the work of your hand." (Isaiah 64:8) Indeed, it is the Holy Spirit who shapes and forms us to the image of Christ. But does this mean there is nothing that we can do?
Of course not! There's lots that we can do to cooperate with the Holy Spirit so that we might draw closer to Christ.
This Lent, our plan is to continue exploring the Spiritual Disciplines (or Holy Habits) that we began exploring in worship during the month of January. We are continuing on this path because we believe that it will lead us towards the Good Life. These disciplines ultimately bring us more joy and help to set us free!
To help us prepare for a holy season of Lent this year, we are asking you to share your story and experience around some of the classic spiritual disciplines:
- Prayer & Meditation
- Studying Scripture
- Silence & Solitude
- Submission & Service
- Confession, Worship & Celebration
Have you experimented with any of the above disciplines or habits? What happened? What surprised you? How did God bless you or challenge you in your faith. All of us are in the Master potter's hands -- regardless of our role or age or stage of faith development. Might we be encouraged to grow deeper or to step out in faith because we know that we're not alone?
Our hope is that you would consider sharing your story -- either by writing a devotional (350 words or less), or by recording a short 3 - 5 minute video, or by offering a photograph or piece of artwork that might help capture our imagination about what is possible with God when we engage with a particular spiritual discipline. Yes, our experience might be a little messy or imperfect -- but that's where God's grace is most evident!

requesting to be put on the distribution list. I'm excited to see and hear what God creates in and through us this Lent.
Grace upon grace,
