START Tuesday Night Dinner Fundraiser:  Please support our team on Tuesday, October 12, 2021 to help with hurricane recovery.  The upcoming trip to North Carolina is at the end of October.  All proceeds go to materials and supplies for the trip.

The UMW Virtual Bazaar will be online again this year (Oct. 17 - Nov. 1) to help support mission!  To see items, go to https://photos.app.goo.gl/SRZkkLU7vdBy3PDJ6.  Click on the photos to enlarge and read the information. White House Ornaments ($23 each), Peanut Brittle ($8 per bag), and a few RADA items will also be available. The OWLS outing for October has been changed to Oct 22nd.  Marion and Lynn will both be out of town on Oct. 15, necessitating the date change.  We will meet at Bella Vita Restaurant, 9675 Liberia Ave., Manassas, VA (an all time favorite place to meet). Please RSVP to Lynn Furlong (703-499-0243) by October 18 so a number can be given to the restaurant.  Remember, OWLS (Older, Wiser, Livelier, Seniors) is open to anyone 55 and older. We are always happy to have new OWLS join us.

Trunk or Treat is on Tuesday, October 26 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the front parking lot. Rain date is October 28. This event is an incredible outreach opportunity, but it takes a team of volunteers to make it happen. If you are available October 26, there are many opportunities to help. We need volunteers to hand out hot dogs with Frank and Janel, greet attendees, manage parking, and refill candy. Most of all we need your trunk! We typically have 20-30 cars hosting “trunks” to make the event a success - decorating and costumes add to the fun. This year's theme is "Make Your Mark." The Children's Council will be dressed as colorful art supplies! We invite you to join in our theme, or create something entirely unique for your family and your trunk. If you aren't able to support this event day-of, please consider donating candy to the bins in the narthex (nut-free if possible). Bins will be available from September 26 to October 24. We are excited about what God continues to do through this event! We hope you will help us provide this free gift to our community. Sign up at https://bit.ly/2XD3TTz. Apple Pies are Back!  Apple pies are $12 each, cash and checks accepted.  Please make checks out to St. Thomas UMW.  All the money will be donated to local and international Missions.  There are 50 pies available for sale each week, beginning September 21 thru October 19th.  You may pick them up after the services on Sunday, at the church on Mondays and Tuesdays during office hours, or on Tuesday evenings from 5pm to 6 pm.  When you order please leave a note in the comments about when you expect to pick up your pies so we can be prepared for you.  We ask that you pick up our pies by Tuesday evening at the latest so that we have freezer space available for the next batch!  Click here to order  here.

Welcome Team Volunteers:  We are looking for volunteers to serve as The Welcome Team: Ushers, Greeters, the Welcome Desk crew, the Check-In table crew, or Parking Assistants. Anyone who can welcome our church visitors with a big smile is the perfect candidate! Even children and youth can serve with their families!   No experience? No Worries! Training is provided.  You can sign up for Sundays when you are available. Check out the available spots here.  Any questions?
