UWF (Formerly UMW) Ice Cream Social - Ladies, join the United Women of Faith (UWF), on July 23, 2022 from 3 - 5 pm at out Ice Cream Social.  We will provide the ice cream and beverages (water and sodas).  Just bring a chair and join us under the trees near the carport.  If it rains, we will meet in the Fellowship Hall.  The cost is $5 payable on the day of the event.  If you plan to join us, please RSVP to Pat Dodson at This email address is being protected from spambots. USTUMC Booth at the Celebrate America on July 4th 2 - 8 PM - The City of Manassas is hosting the annual "Celebrate America" event on July 4th in  Old Town Manassas. We will have our own booth at the event to meet and greet people in our community and tell them how awesome St Thomas is, and to give away flyers and gifts. Wacky Wednesdays - Yard Games in the Park - July 7th 10am - Join us at Nelson Park, across the street from the church for corn hole, bocce ball, bubbles, and lots more fun. Don't worry about the heat -- we'll have snacks and ice cold bottles of water. Wacky Wednesdays activities are designed for children from age 3-5th grade, but siblings may also attend. These summer fun times are free to attend, but a parent or guardian must attend with their child(ren).

Summer Camp: Spy Academy - July 11 - 15 - Exclusive recruits go undercover to test their spy skills with our expert handlers . Wielding the most state-of-the art espionage gadgets and tradecrafts available, kids will uncover thrilling summer fun with multi-sensory interactives. Missions are aimed at developing skills in strategic thinking, coding, physical prowess, and most importantly establishing our true "cover identity" through Christ.

Camp Tweens - July 20, 21st - 9AM - 3PM - Our special summer camp for rising 3rd - graduating 5th graders will teach our tweens how to read the Bible amidst a whirlwind of summer fun. We will present Bibles to each participating tween on the following Sunday, July 24, during the 9:00 and 11:00 services. Tweens may attend either service.

Camp Tweens is being planned as an in-person experience, but we may expand to a hybrid option if there are several members interested. Please comment on the sign-up if you prefer a virtual option.

Tweens will meet at the St. Thomas campus each day for fun and learning. We will go off-campus in the church van for the ice cream tour on July 20. Lunch and snack will be provided each day. Tweens are welcome to bring their own lunch and snack if they have special dietary concerns or preferences, but we will do our best to accommodate any requests. Please comment on the sign-up or e-mail me directly if your child has any allergies or medical concerns.

All 3rd-5th graders are invited to participate and friends are always welcome. Pre-registration is required.

Wacky Wednesdays - Water Play at STUMC -July 27th, 4 pm -  Join us on the STUMC lawn for games and water play. There will be appropriate activities for kids of all ages including water tables, water balloons, and some awesome surprises. Kids should wear their bathing suits and plan to get wet! Snack provided. Wacky Wednesdays activities are designed for children from age 3-5th grade, but siblings may also attend. Summer Camp - Inovation Lab - August 1st - 5th - 9AM - 4PM - Ever wonder how red velvet cake turns red, or why strumming a guitar sounds different than beating a drum? Young lab techs join our expert scientists for incredible new investigations related to science, music, culinary and fine arts. Techs will explore multidisciplinary activities through a scientific lens, with lots of cooking, experiments, creativity and fun! Everything changes when you decide to trust in God.

Blessing of the Backpacks - August 14th 9AM and 11AM - Join us to kick off the school year as we bless backpacks during the services for students of all ages. All students will be given a gift and additional activities will be available to everyone, but geared towards kids ages 3-5th grade. Participants can ride a school bus, play a game, hear read aloud stories, enjoy snacks and have lots more fun.

Parents of Children with Elevated Needs:  We are considering ways to better support parents and families with children who have elevated needs — such as an IEP or 504 plan, behavioral needs that arise from autism spectrum disorder, mental health needs, fostering or kinship needs.  Parenting children with these kinds of elevated needs can be challenging — but we don’t have to do it alone!  Interested in learning more, email This email address is being protected from spambots. Ukraine Assistance:  Many of you have asked about ways to help the incredible people of Ukraine. The Missions Council has given $2000 to this cause. If you would like to add to this, we recommend you donate to the Methodist relief Ministries/UMCOR with Advance #982450-Ukraine written on the memo line. Food Pantry:  Every Saturday 9 am to 12 noon.  The Pantry is low on these staples: toilet paper and paper towels.  Please leave your donated items in the box in the Narthex.  URGENT NEED for volunteers to pick up donated food at local grocery stores.  We need permanent and substitute volunteers.  If you are interested, please contact Jhenny Michalek at This email address is being protected from spambots.
