David T. Forrest has been pastor of St. Thomas UMC since June 2010. Prior to becoming our Senior Pastor he was the Superintendent of the Winchester District of the United Methodist Church since 2004. He began his service as a pastor in the Virginia Conference of the UMC in 1975 and has also served as a UMC missionary in Sierra Leone in West Africa. He holds degrees from North Carolina Wesleyan College (BA), Emory University (M.Div.), and Wesley Theological Seminary (D. Min.).
He and his wife, Nancy, who is a registered nurse, have been married for thirty-five years and have three sons: Andrew, Peter, and Robbie. Andrew is pastor of Munger Place UMC in Dallas, TX where he lives with his wife, Elaine, and their son, Jack, the Forrest’s only grandchild. Peter and his wife, Sarah, are in Oxford, England where he is pursuing a doctorate in philosophy. Robbie, a 2012 graduate of the University of Virginia, is serving
as a year-long mission volunteer in the Middle East during 2013.
